APPAREL
Style is inherently subjective, proper fit and function is not.
Designing technical apparel starts with a functional foundation, evolves through material updates and fit revisions before finishing with tasteful details and a dose of color.
With a clear goal in mind, I like to source materials with the best combination of features at the target price. After building samples with the appropriate specifications, I meticulously adjust patterns and fit on a model with the simple yet gratifying reward of having the product sit just right on the body while being comfortable through a full range of motion.
Style comes into play as the fit gets dialed in. Color and print trends are forecast before requesting lab-dips. Brand history cannot be understated and timeless looks take the most time to get right. I personally prefer to eliminate anything frivolous or unnecessary; however, creative style-lines, trims, and graphics can often highlight the overall aesthetic.
